George Henry Ochsner Austin was born 10 May 1862 in Canton Zurich, Nanikon Switzerland. He came to the US in 1875 with his Uncle Henri Ochsner who had settled in Wisconsin in the early 1850's. Before leaving Switzerland he was confirmed and baptised on Easter Sunday 1874 by Rev Tierrer, it was at this time he dropped the name Ochsner and took Austin as his last name. George first married Mary Ollie Rinaman in Allegheny County Pennsylvania and had three children; Katherine Gertrude, George Adolph, and Mary Ollie. After Mary Ollie died he married her sister Lenora Rinaman and had four children, Mabel May, Alice Lenora, Walter Leroy, and Marie Caroline. After Lenora died, he married Lavine Martin and lived in West Virginia, After Lavine died he married Mary Etta Figley. It was with the marriage to Mary Etta Figley that he moved to Alexandria Indiana to be near his daughter Alice and her children. His wish was to be buried next to his grandson George Finley Prewett who died at the age of 13. He lies next to his grandson George and his daughter Alice in this cemetery.
