Doris was born August 19, 1924 to Paul and Essie Douthit Whaley in Holdenville. She departed this life February 21, 1992 at St Francis hospital in Tulsa. She spent her childhood in Hughes county, moving to Muskogee as a teen-ager. She was a graduate of Muskogee High School and received her LPN from Muskogee General Hospital, She had worked many years at Muskogee general hospital and for Dr. Gaston. She worked 13 years at Tahlequah City Hospital, retiring in 1989
She was baptised at the Boulvard Christian Church in Muskogee in 1948 and was a charter member and Sunday school teacher at the Northeastern Christian Church in Tahlequah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Gary Paul Bemo on Feb. 11, 1970.
She is survived by her son, Alan Douglas Bemo of Singko, Laos; a half brother, Henry Whaley; two nieces, Lois Whaley and Lynn Ballard; and a nephew, Bill Johnson.
She also leaves behind six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter along with many other loved ones and friends.
