"Elsie," as she was known, was born in Fall River, a fraternal twin of Alice and younger sister of Louis and Gilda Pacheco. She was married to Manuel Custadio in 1947 and had six children: Thomas, Stephen, Paul & Paula (fraternal twins), Mark and Michael. She raised them on her own after her husband left in 1960, and was always considered the heart of the family. She died of cancer, leaving behind fifteen grandchildren and two nieces.
