MRS. CONSTANCE FRANCES AHERN
Mrs. Constance Frances Ahern, 86 of Plevna, widow of Tivy Ahern, died Saturday morning, Nov. 29, 1975 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy where she had been a patient since Nov. 11. She had lived her entire life in the Plevna community with the exception of a year spent in Colorado.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina. Burial was in the Newark Cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Nancy) Klocke of near Knox City; two sons, William Caryll Ahern of Plevna, and John Leslie Ahern of near Shelbyville; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Hutton of the state of Idaho; and a brother, Harry B. Smith of the Knox County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Ahern was born Nov. 27 1889 in Knox County near Plevna, a daughter of Addison Taylor and Elizabeth F. (Deer) Smith. She was married on Jan. 26, 1911 to Mr. Ahern and he preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1973. She was a member of the Plevna Christian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and Homemakers Extension Club, both of Plevna, and the Knox County Republican Women's Club.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Leslie D. and Clifton Smith. (bio by: LVoyles)
