Mrs. Alford was born July 16, 1928, in Butler County. She was of the Baptist faith, and a homemaker. During her earlier years, Mrs. Alford worked in a canning factory, in Michigan and later assisted her husband on his Daily American Newspaper delivery route. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being outdoors, growing flowers, gardening and fishing.
On Oct. 14, 1948, she married James Robert Alford. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2007.
Survivors include a stepson, Roger Alford, of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel with the Rev. Leroy Foster officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
