The Florala Police Department has launched a death investigation after an officer was found dead in his residence.
The Florala Police Chief confirmed that Sgt. Paul Adams, the FPD's K-9 officer, was found dead in his home around 10:30 a.m.
It was reported that Adams had been ill for about two to three weeks, and no foul play is suspected in the case.
ABI has been contacted by the Florala Police Department and will be assisting with the case.
An autopsy will be performed, and there are hopes to have the preliminary results by Friday.
