Viola I. Brewer, 93, of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, went to Heaven peacefully on April 4, 2016, her mother's birthday, at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice where she had been a patient since April 1st. She lived in her own home up until entering the hospital on March 29th.

Vi was born on January 27, 1923; the third child of seven, born to Bert Ingvald Samsal and Emma (Knoblauch) Samsal in Benson, Minnesota, where her father was the Chief of Police. Vi and her family moved to Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin when she was six years old. She was a 1941 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School, where she played bass violin in the orchestra, and excelled in the high jump during track season. Her first place of employment was at the Brickner Woolen Mills as a loom trainer, and then as a teller at Citizens Bank, both in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin.

On December 15, 1945, Vi married Leonard Nash when he returned from Europe after serving in the Army in World War II. Vi and Len, along with their two daughters, Cindy and Lori, moved to Lancaster, California in 1957, where Vi was a teller at the Bank of America. Following a devastating car accident, the family returned to Wisconsin. In the 1970s Vi was the lunch ticket lady at the Sheboygan Falls Grade School. Her husband, Leonard, died on July 9, 1980.

On May 22, 1982, Vi married Ronald Darrall, who died on January 16, 1983.

Vi married Arbor Brewer on October 31, 1985. Arbor died on May 6, 2007.

She was a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Susannah Circle. She also was a church camp counselor.

Vi enjoyed the Milwaukee Brewers, reading historical novels, crossword and word search puzzles, and spending time with her family. She loved the wildlife that visited her backyard; deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, and especially the birds. The sight of a cardinal was very special to her.

Her favorite color was purple and many of her clothing choices reflected this preference.

Preceeding Vi were her parents, her husbands, Leonard Nash, Ronald Darrall and Arbor Brewer, as well as three brothers, John Samsal, Wesley Samsal and Virgil Samsal, and one sister, Joyce (Samsal) Massey. Also preceeding her was a granddaughter, Rebecca Rose Wirtz, and a son-in-law, Don Adam.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, with Pastor Susan Safford-Gaul officiating. Interment was in the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

A special thank you to the staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for the loving care they gave to our mother.
