POWAY- A 10-year-old boy died yesterday afternoon after his bicycle collided with a pickup near here, officials said.
Deputy Coroner Penne F. Hammerstead said the boy, Richard Allen Wood, a fifth-grade student, died at Sharp Memorial Hospital about 4 p.m. yesterday after the traffic accident.
Wood was riding southbound on Tobiasson Road about 3 p.m. when his bike collided with a pickup that was westbound on McFeron Road, Officials said.
Wood was transported by Life Flight helicopter to the hospital, where he died from internal injuries, Hammerstead said.
No Charges were filed against the driver of the truck, Scott Ball, 29, of Poway, according to sheriff's deputies.
