James Darwin Boyd, 71, of Mount Sterling, OH went to be with his Savior on Dec. 14, 2015. He was born Nov. 17, 1944 in Logan, WV. He was a retired banker and served our country and protected our freedom by serving with the U.S. Navy as a Naval Hospital Corpsman with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an ordained minister and a member of the Westside Freewill Baptist Church. His favorite saying was, "I preach the gospel for a living and work at a bank to support it." While living in Columbus, OH he served his community as a past president of the Hilltop Kiwanis and past President of the Hilltop Business Association. He served in numerous leadership positions with the Central Ohio Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol (Cunningham) Boyd; sons, Joshua (Missi) Boyd of Fort Myers, FL, Timothy (Jessica) Boyd of Commercial Point, OH; daughter, Jamie Boyd of Mount Sterling, OH; sisters, Janice (David) Hamilton of Hamilton, OH and Joyce (Ron) Fike of Garrison, KY; three beloved grandchildren, Kyle James, Emma Paige, and Tessa Grace Boyd; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father, John Simon Boyd and mother, Juanita Katherine Boyd.
