Matilde Carrillo was born in Taylor on March 15, 1915 to Agapito Carrillo and Herminia Rodriguez Carrillo. He attended school in Taylor. He married Faustina Rochaon April 12, 1953 in Temple. He enlisted in the United States Navy on August 29,1943 and was discharged at Camp Wallace, Texas as Seaman First Class on Oct 4, 1945. He worked at Temple City Lumber for 23 years and Artco Bell for 15 years. He was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church in Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Faustina Rocha Carrillo of Temple, two sons, Antonio Carrillo of Austin and Matilde Carrillo, Jr. of Lockhart, nine daughters, Ramona C. Martinez of San Antonio, Mary Helen Chavez and Theresa C. Sidon, both of Fort Worth, Minnie C. Vasquez and Helen Carrillo both of Austin, Evangeline C. Kuhns and Sandy C. Ruiz, both of Temple, Paula C. Burrows of Melbourne, Florida and Elva C. Ramirez of Houston, two brothers, Timothy Carrillo of Buena Park, California and Justo Carrilo of Temple, Five sisters, Lucy Santibanez, Paula Perez and Pauline Perez all of Temple, Emelia Montez and Maura Alvarez both of Fort Worth, two stepdaughters, four stepsons, 31 grandchildren and many step grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday at 7 pm at the funeral home.
