Catherine Ophelia Clements was the youngest daughter born to Judge John Clements and Catherine Ophelia Grogan Clements, both of whom were immigrants from Ireland and who settled in Alexandria in the middle of the 19th Century. In 1902, she married George C. Wilson, who had removed from Connellsville, PA in the late 1880's. Known to her friends as Tamanny, which came from her father's comment "Too Many" at the time of her birth, she outlived her husband by over 26 years. Although her gravestone shows her year of birth as 1884, she is listed as "Kate" in the 1880 census as being under one year old.
