Vivian Palestine Abernathy, 86, of Farmington, died August 12, 1996. She was born on December 18, 1909, at Monterey, MO, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Lucinda E. Wilson Chapman. She was also preceded in death by three husbands, Henry Clay Carr, Vernon Barton and Earl Abernathy.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Abernathy had been employed by the Trimfoot Shoe Company of Farmington.
She is survived by son, Sanford Carr and by two daughters, Mynaun (Mts. Clyde) Brown and Nelda (Mrs. Lester) Casteel. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Burial Thursday, August 15, at the Doe Run Memorial Cemetery.
