Bass player for "The Hurd Brothers" a popular and highly acclaimed blues band from Harrisburg, Illinois. Along with his brother Forest, the brothers opened for such national acts as Buddy Guy, Steppenwolf, Robin Trower and Molly Hatchet.
The Hurd Brothers were returning home from a gig on the early morning of July 21, 2002, when their vehicle was struck by a drunk driver, a repeat offender who was driving on a suspended licence. Both brothers lost their lives in the collision, leaving their family, community and a huge fan base to mourn their loss.
Since their death, a memorial scholarship has been established in their name at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, for students interested in pursuing a degree in Music.
They maintain their strong fan base who celebrate their music and lives everyday. They will never be forgotten and will always be considered legends in music and for their kindness.
