Harry L. Albert, Jr., of 643 East Main Street, Annville, last night committed suicide on the steps of the Episcopal Church of Incarnation, Philadelphia, according to information received from the Philadelphia police today. Mystery at first surrounded his death, which was due to poisoning, but a note clutched in the dead man's hand enabled the police to reconstruct his reasons for ending his life. The note was addressed to a married woman with whom he left Annville last Friday, and who yesterday rejoined her husband In Philadelphia. The note called her the "kindest woman In the world," and named her his "best friend." According to police, the woman, who is 24, said she reached Philadelphia Friday. Yesterday, her husband, a motor mechanic at Annville, found her and asked for an explanation She broke down, she said, and told Albert to leave. When he went, he said: "I'm going to commit suicide," police say. The woman, police said, told them that she and her 2 1/2-year-old boy had come to Philadelphia with Albert, because he had been begging her to run away with him for some time. She said she knew Albert; who was 30 years old, had been married and divorced twice before. Philadelphia police this morning notified the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry G, Albert, and Mr. Albert and Undertaker Kreamer, of Annville, left early today for Philadelphia to identify the body and bring it back to Annville for burial.
