Husband of Sarah Frances Johnson. Thomas Porterfield Jack was born in Madisonville, Monroe County, Tennessee. His family left there in 1837 and went to Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri and had a cattle ranch. In 1847 his family left Missouri and went on the Oregon Trail. He and his parents Jeremiah Jack and Susannah McCallie Davis Jack took donation land claims on Butte Creek Near Mount Angel and Silverton, Oregon.
