Allen LeRoy Counts, 45, formerly of Topeka, died April 11, 2000, in Phoenix. Cause of death was determined to be heart failure. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mr. Counts worked for IBP in Emporia, and he served in the Job Corps in South Dakota. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was decorated with the National Defense medal and Sharpshooter medal.
He was born May 4, 1954, in Great Bend, the son of Arthur LeRoy and Ethel Bucl Counts. He lived in Topeka until he moved to Phoenix in 1990.
Survivors include a son, Allen LeRoy Counts Jr., Topeka; his parents, Arthur LeRoy Counts and Ethel Counts, both of Topeka; a brother, Christopher Morgan Counts, Topeka; a sister, Jacqueline Sueann Reyes, Topeka; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Counts was cremated.
