Mary Ann Carr McAdam, 81, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Manor Care Nursing Home. Ann was born May 21, 1925 in Abilene, KS the daughter of Cecil and Anita Carr. She grew up in Abilene and attended Washburn University. She was a homemaker for most of her life but also worked as a social worker in Topeka and Chicago. She married Terry Donald McAdam on August 31, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1986. Ann was a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral, Washburn University Wives, Nautilus Club, Moose Club, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Washburn Alumni Association, former member of Florence Crittenton Home, and the Boswell Park Wall of Fame Committee. She is survived by her son, Terry Michael McAdam and daughter in law Sandy McAdam; two grandchildren, John Antonio McAdam, Topeka and Patrick Donald McAdam, Pittsburg. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd., Topeka. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Grace Episcopal Cathedral. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Terry and Ann McAdam Math Scholarship at Washburn University, Grace Episcopal Cathedral, and Heartland Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
