MAURICIO " WICHO" APARICIO JR., 89, entered into eternal rest on September 24, 2008. He was born in El Paso to Mauricio Aparicio Sr. and Victorina Ruiz Aparicio on November 12, 1918. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso and a member of Little Flower Catholic Church. His wife of 71 years, Consuelo, preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted children: Rodolfo Aparicio (Anita), Rogelio Aparicio, Ruben G. Aparicio (Rosa), Rebecca A. Marin, Rachel A. Colunga (Daniel) and Mauricio Aparicio III; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Sister Magdalena Aparicio. His life was characterized by devotion to GOD, Family, Country, his solid work ethic and love for his Dallas Cowboys. He was respected and loved by so many, leaving a lasting imprint on the lives he touched forever. He will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held Sunday September 28, 2008 from 2pm to 9pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with Vigil service at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held Monday September 29, 2008 at 9 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in his name, to the American Diabetes Association or The El Paso Times "Christmas Oldsters" Fund.
