Frank died at his home in Saratoga Springs at the age of 64 years. Since boyhood he had been crippled in his legs and in 1923, an arm was amputated.
He was educated in the public and grammer schools of Saratoga Springs. He was graduated from Fort Edward Collegiate Institute in 1885 and from the Albany Law School with an LL.B in June of 1894 and clerked for the law office of C.S & C.C. Lester, Esqs. He was admitted to the Bar of the Sate of new York on September 13, 1894. Before completing his law studies, he was principal of a school at Hadley, New York for two years and of another at Conklingville, New York for a year. In 1888 he passed the State Board at Albany and was awarded a State Teacher's Certificate, issued by A.S. Draper, State Superintendent.
Mr. Gick had served as Justice of the Peace (January 1,1897 to December 31, 1903), Village Attorney beginning in 1905), Acting Police Justice (Fall of 1897 during the final illness of Judge Geo. A. Swart), member of the Saratoga Springs County School Board and attorney for the Board of Supervisors. He also enjoyed politics demontrated by his membership of the Patrons of Industry and of the Jeffersonian Democratic Club of Saratoga Springs. He was also a member of the Empire Lodge No. 774, Knights of Pythias.
His first cousin, Sophia, was the second and last wife of notable beer brewer Franz Ruppert, and step-mother to beer baron Jacob Ruppert, Sr., (1842-1915) of New York, NY.
