Born in Dogwood, IN on April 25th, 1928, Creston was born the fourth of seven children to the late Straude Ray & Myrtle (McKim) Eckart.

He is survived by his sister, Bonnie Brown. He is also survived by his wife of 62 years Charlotte (Long) Eckart, and four sons Philip (Karen), Daniel (Laurie), Paul (Kelly), and Jeffrey (Arianna). Creston was blessed with 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He was a devoted husband to his wife and amazing father to his sons and left them with a wealth of wisdom and memories. His life and laugh were contagious to all who were around him.

Creston earned three bachelors degrees from Frankfort Bible College and Indiana Wesleyan University, as well as a Masters degree from Indiana State University. He was both teacher and principal at Ora Public School from 1954-1959, taught at New Palestine High School in English & History from 1959-1963, and at Noblesville HIgh School from 1963-1983 in English & History. He was an outstanding member of society not only in these roles, but also as a member and President of Kiwanis Club in Indianapolis.

An ordained minister in the Pilgrim Holiness Denomination (and later in the Wesleyan Denomination) he pastored at Farmington Pilgrim Holiness Church in Farmington, MO from 1951-1952, at Antioch Pilgrim Holiness Church in Bass Lake, IN from 1954-1959, and at Warren Park Wesleyan Church in Indianapolis, IN from 1959-1993. His last pastorate at Warren Park was for 34 years, and the church honored him and Charlotte with a trip to the Holy Land. After retirement, he continued on as Assistant Pastor beside the current Senior Pastor, his son, Reverend Daniel Eckart at Warren Park, focused primarily on visitation ministry, right up until the time of his death. He was honored for 60 years of pastoral service by the Wesleyan Church.
