Information from the "History of Worth County, Georgia", by Mrs. Lillian Martin Grubbs, c. 1934 J W Burke Co, Macon, Ga and republished in 1970 by the Barnard Trail NSDAR, p. 300:
"A. J.(Jack)Paul served as Deputy Sheriff of the county during the term of Willis Holton, having to perform the first execution in the county during their term . After resignation of Holton and his removal to Texas, he served the balance of that term as Sheriff. He also served as Deputy during the term of G. S. Nelson, and later serving as Coroner of the County."
