This was my paternal Grandmother's Brother-in-Law. His wife, Bessie Louise Ely Lynd, died in childbirth in 1927, and Oliver raised his children on his own. By all reports he was a wonderful man. He died of a heart attack at his home in 1943 and was buried next to his wife in Niles Cemetery, Eagle, Michigan.

My grandfather was a tall man over 6 feet. He passed away when I was just 2 1/2 years old. My mother told me that every morning I would knock on grandpa's door and ask for coffee and toast. We would sit and enjoy our coffee and toast together.
