Ryu was my best friend. An American Rottweiler, I had the privilege of being his companion for nearly ten years.
He enjoyed going for a ride and did travel to many states with me in the summer of 2004. He was fascinated by cats but never chased them. He loved the kids, especially my two granddaughters Mariah and Emily and grandson Matt.
After my move to Oregon, we lived together for a few months before my friend developed a serious cancer condition and got to the point where he could barely walk.
We talked and came to the decision that a humane euthanasia was the way to go. He died in my arms on a beautiful spring day. The next day he was cremated and his ashes will be in my possession until my death when our ashes will be joined together and buried at Lewis Clark Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lewiston, Idaho where I own a cremation plot.
