PHILADELPHIA, May 13. -- Melville G. Baker, prominent banker and president of the Union League of Philadelphia, died of heart disease today at his home in Germantown. He was stricken last night while attending a meeting of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, of which he was treasurer. He was 54 years old.
