RUBY ZIEMER
Mrs. William Ziemer, 72, formerly of 1902 Western Ave., Manitowoc, died Friday
after a short illness at Glendale Nursing Home where she was a patient six weeks.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wesley Methodist Church, Manitowoc,
the Rev. D.T. Stannard officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Ziemer, nee Ruby Tetzlaff, was born at Marinette June 30, 1893, daughter
of the late Otto and Lizzetta Bastian Tetzlaff. She was reared since infancy by
the August Kuecker family at Manitowoc. She was married to William G. Ziemer
May 25, 1914, at Manitowoc, and he operated the Ziemer Clothing Street and was
a banker at the American Exchange Bank. He died in 1956. She was a member of the
Women’s Society of Christian Service, Esther Circle and Christian Stewards of
Wesley church. Two foster brothers, Leonard and Charles Kuecker, also preceded
her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Charles, of Manitowoc, Paul, of Whitefish Bay and
William, of Bloomington, Ind.; four half-brothers, Glen, Albert, Lambkin and
Earl Tetzlaff of Manitowoc; a foster brother, Sam Kuecker, of Manitowoc, and
eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Ninth Street entrance,
Manitowoc, after 3 pm. Sunday until 11 a.m. Monday and then at the church. A
memorial to Wesley Church has been established.
