Mr. Alfred W. Ziemer, 63, of 927 North 8th Street, Manitowoc, died early Friday morning, June 15, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Glenn Unke will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Ziemer was born May 13, 1921, at Manitowoc, Wisconsin, son of the late Alfred and Hattie Kuehl Ziemer. Mr. Ziemer attended Manitowoc Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1939. Mr. Ziemer worked at Mirro Corporation for 44 years, retiring in January of 1983. He married the former Marian Meyer. Mr. Ziemer served with the United States Army during World War II from 1944-1946 in the European Theatre of War. Mr. Ziemer was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mirro Foreman's Association, TPA Association and the Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Marian; a daughter and a son-in-law, Barbara and Richard Gnadt of Manawa, Wisconsin; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Viola and Fred Meyer of Manitowoc; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred T. and Anne Meyer of Manitowoc; two grandchildren, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends also survived.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening and Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
