DIED
------
WORK--At the residence of her father-in-law, Captain J. A. Work, in Dallas, March 25, 1875, Mrs. Susan R., wife of Mr. R. V. Work, and Daughter of Major Andrew Bradford, Tuxpan, Mexico, in the 25th year of age. The deceased was born in Baton Rouge, Louisana, and went with her parents from Galveston to Mexico several years ago, where she married on the 6th of January, 1874, and came with her husband to his home in Dallas.

Her illness was short and she died leaving an infant only a week old. It is the privilage of friendship to lament her untimely death, in the bloom of womanhood, and as a young mother. Truly she was one richly endowed mentally, and with those gentle and charming graces which win the love and esteem of all who appreciate such attributes.

A dutyful daughter and a devoted wife, she was no less a dear a friend. She placed her trust, with unfaltering faith, in our savior's love, and died full of hope. Her relatives here and her absent parents, brothers and sisters, in Mexico, have the tenderest sympathy of all who have come to know her here. The funeral services were feelingly conducted by the Rev. Dr. Smith of the Presbyterian and the Rev. Mr. Allen of the Methodist church, and on the 26th, in the presence of a large assemblage, her remains were interred in a beautiful spot in the Oakland cemetery, being the first interment in that beautiful "city of the dead".
