I.A. Wiley, veteran of the Civil War and a much respected citizen of Greenwood County, died very suddenly at his home in southeast Eureka Friday morning July 26th of heart disease, aged 63 years 4 months and 29 days.
Isaac A. Wiley was born in Preble County, Ohio. February 27, 1844.
At the age of eighteen he enlisted in the Civil War and served in the 156th and also in the 86th Ohio Regiments.
He was married in 1867 to Mary E. McWhinney. In 1885 he moved to Bern, Kansas, where he lived for twelve years. The last ten years of his life had been spent in Eureka.
He became a Chriatian early in life and for thirty-seven years had been a faithful member of the Methodist Church.
He leaves a wife and five children and also a brother and sister.
The funeral services, under the auspices of the Knights and Ladies of Security and the Dick Yates Post and condcuted by Rev. A.L. Cook, were held from the Methodist Church, Sunday July 28th at 2:30 p.m. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
