Hans Peter Vick is the son of Hans Christian Frederiksen and Karen Kirstine (Pedersdatter) Frederiksen.
Hans Peter Vick is the grandson of Frederik Vick and Martha (Hansdatter) Vick.
Peter Vick was born in the month of January, in 1842 in Denmark, coming to the United States at the age of 28 in 1869 (Ship records indicate date was April 17, 1869).
He taught dancing lessons in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is where he met Maren Hoff. Maren was born in Norway on April 26, 1848 and came to the United States at the age of 18 in 1866.
Hans Peter Vick married Maren G (Hoff) (Huff) Vick on September 14, 1874 in Wilmar, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota.
His actual naturalization papers filed in Douglas County, Minnesota in March of 1880, show a date of April 16, 1869 as the date that Peter Vick arrived in America.
Peter Vick and Maren Hoff were married on September 14, 1874 in Wilmar, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota.
The 1880 census shows Peter, Mary A and children Christian F. Ole C. Martin C. and Martha living in Spruce Hill Township, Douglas county, Minnesota and shows Peter was born in Denmark and that his mother and father were born in Denmark also. Maren (Mary A) was born and Norway and both of her parents were born in Norway. All four children are shown as being born in Minnesota.
Tried to find a birth certificate for Martin in Wilmar, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota but there was no birth certificate on record.
After their marriage they moved to Wilmar, Minnesota. Seven sons and one daughters were born to this marriage. They then moved to Mooreton, ND and later moved to Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada. They lived there until the death of Peter on July 21, 1908.
They moved to North Dakota and land records show these dates in Mooreton, North Dakota.

Records indicate that Peter Vick had a contract of some sort on a farm on February 26, 1892.
October 31, 1892
Peter & Maren bought section 3 farm in North Dakota on October 31, 1892 and sold it on November 6, 1897 to Fredrick Borgen, November 6, 1897.
October 29, 1898
Olaf C. & Estelle bought section 4 farm in North Dakota on October 29, 1898 and sold it to Emily R. Roberts on October 25, 1901. Olaf was 22 years old at the time.
October 31, 1892
Olaf bought section 9 farm on October 31, 1892.
October 26, 1901
Olaf sold part interest in section 9 to Maren Vick on October 26, 1901. Peter's name was not on the documents so he may have been in Canada at that time.
January 11, 1906
Maren & Peter Vick and Olaf sold all interests in North Dakota farms on January 11, 1906. It looks like Maren handled and signed the papers and different people witnessed Peter's signature. Maybe he was still in Canada or came back later and signed the papers.
Regina homestead applications revealed the following dates:

Peter died in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada on July 21, 1908 and his body was shipped back to Mooreton, North Dakota for burial in St. Paul's Cemetery beside his son Martin and daughter Martha.
They had 9 children.
Christian Fredrick Vick was born at Wilmar, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota on September 16, 1874. Fredcerick married Anna (Christensen) Vick , born on October 20, 1878 to Hans Peter Christensen and Caren M. (Jensen) Christensen. They had four children, Clifton, Robert, Helen and John.
Olof Calmer Vick was born at Wilmar, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota on December 15, 1875. Cal married Estella (McDonald) Vick on March 28, 1901 in St Pauls Church in Mooreton, North Dakota. They had three children, Leone, Clarice and Clinton.
Martin Cornelius Vick was born at Wilmar, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota on March 15, 1877.
Martha Marie (Vick) Borgen was born at Wilmar, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota on October 14, 1878. Martha married Oscar Borgen on March 28, 1901 in St Pauls Church in Mooreton, North Dakota. They had two children, Rufus and Muriel.
Walter Peter Vick was born at Mooreton, Richland County, North Dakota on September 25, 1880. Walt married Rebecca (Ruby) Christine (Rasmussen) Vick on November 13, 1900 in Copenhagen, Antelope County, Nebraska. They had eleven children. Leroy, Lucile, Constance, Cleve, Vernon, Harold, Norris, Wayne, Ruby, Loyd and Leonard.
Carl Torvel Vick was born at Mooreton, Richland County, North Dakota on August 25, 1885. Carl married Margaret Effie Baldry on August 17, 1910 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan Canada. Margaret Effie (Baldry) Vick was the seventh child born of James Baldry and Rachel Mingis (Purdy) (Pirnie) Baldry. They had seven children. Melvin, Vivian, Mervin, Kenneth, Gladys, Dorothy and Adrien
Victor Ledius Vick was born at Mooreton, Richland County, North Dakota on February 16, 1889. Victor married Christina (Sanderson) Vick They had four children. Gerald, Garnette, Deloris and Dorothy.
Oscar Waldemar Vick was born at Mooreton, Richland County, North Dakota on February 16, 1889. Oscar married Virginia (Garritty) Vick They had three children. Eloda, Pearl and Willard.
Ledia Vick was born at Wilmar, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota in 1896.
US Census Reports show that their first three children were born in Wilmar, MN and the rest of the kids were born in North Dakota, before they homesteaded in Saskatchewan. 1880 Census show Martha born in Minnesota too.
After Peter's death, Maren then went to live with some of her married sons near Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. They later all moved to west of Opheim, Montana taking up homesteads, all near one another.
Maren lived in her homestead shack a few years and then moved in with her sons and families until her death in January 15, 1924. Maren is buried in Opheim, Montana cemetery.
Death certificate for Maren (Hoff) Vick was obtained from Valley county vital records. Maren's name was listed as Marion and her maiden name was given as Huff. Document indicated that her father's name was Christian Huff. Document was filled out by Walter Vick, her son and attending physician was W. Reed. Doctor Reed was an uncle of Doris (Reed) Rogers, wife of Neal Rogers, brother of Phyllis and Myrtle Vick.
