ERICH O. STEINER

Erich O. Steiner, 99, a resident of Arbour View, De Pere, formerly of 4712 Vista Rd., Manitowoc, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday evening, May 14, 2003, at Arbour View. Erich was born July 12, 1903, in Berlin, Germany, to the late Otto and Johanna Seidel Steiner. He received his schooling and technical education in Germany. In 1930, he took a position as tool and die designer in the engineering department of Mirro Aluminum Company and later retired in 1968 as a machinery control engineer. On July 1, 1933, he married Sylvia Kitzerow at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church where he and his family have been members since. Sylvia preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 1995. Survivors include one son, Terry (Phyllis) Steiner, Cleveland, Wis.; one daughter Letty (Rev. Waldemar) Loescher, Manitowoc; six grandchildren, David (Regina) Steiner, Sommerset, N.J.; Dr. Victoria (Steve) Steiner Williams, Toledo, Ohio; Heidi Loescher, Chiang Mai, Thailand; Ruth Loescher, Boston, Mass.; Deborah (Rafael) Rivera, Altamonte Springs, Fla.; and Sarah (Daniel) Splinter, Edgerton, Wis.; two great-grandchildren, Skyler and Antonio Rivera; a sister-in-law, Grace Kitzerow; along with other relatives, friends and beloved foster grandchildren. Erich was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Sylvia Kitzerow in 1995; and three sisters. Friends may call at First German Ev. Lutheran Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2003, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1033 S. 8th St., Manitowoc. Officiating will be the Rev. David Rosenow. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. There will also be a celebration of life at First German Ev. Lutheran Church on July 12, 2003, which would have been Erich's 100th birthday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First German Ev. Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School would be appreciated. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
