Renee Dawn States, 13, of Route 1, Waverly, died Sunday night in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following a Sunday afternoon single car accident.

She was born in Parkersburg, daughter of Richard O. and Joy Sims States. She attended River Hill United Methodist Church, was a member of the Greenwood Village Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, and was an eighth grade student at Franklin Junior High School where she was a cheerleader and member of the volleyball team.

She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Paul D. and Imogene Hays States of Parkersburg; her maternal grandparents, Charles E. and Delores Cheuvront Sims of Parkersburg; Lyda States and Bea Cheuvront both of Parkersburg; her great-grandmothers; and her maternal great-great-grandmother, Blanche Lockhart of Waverly.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, the Rev. Richard D. Cottrill officiating with burial in Sunset Memory Gardens.
