Columbus, GA - Mrs. Freda Bessie (Murray) Faulkner ~ Richards, 84, of Columbus, died Wednesday, October 20, 1999 at her residence.
Funeral services will beheld 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 1999 at Ft. Benning Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Hilderbrand officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home, Inc. Family will recieve friends after the service.
Mrs. Richards was born August 8, 1915 in Oakland, Alameda County, CA., the daughter of Mary May Edith (nee Sinclair) Murray ~ Kiel and Fred Elroy Murray. She was a homemaker and a Seventh-Day Adventist. Freda is survived by her daughter, Patricia Mae (nee Faulkner) Buss; son, Charles Leroy Richards Jr.; sister, Ella W. (nee Murray) Sanford; half-sisters, Marion Belle (nee Murray) Cardwell and Winifred Betty (nee Murray) Musso; niece Joyce May Bernier and nephew Michael Leonard Sanford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Melvin in 1973; son In-law Walter Henry Justus in 1971; granddaughter Ashley Nicole Justus in 1983; her first husband, Frederick Stanley Faulkner in 1957 and her second husband, Charles Leroy Richards Sr in 1992.
Surviving from Freda's first marriage to Frederick Stanley Faulkner in 1935 is her daughter, Patricia Mae (Faulkner) Justus ~ Buss; eight grandchildren, Steven Scott, Eugene David, Keith Allen, Donna Dee, twins Walter Adam and Mark Henry Justus, and Trisha and Joshua Buss, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Surviving from Freda's second marriage to Charles Leroy Richards in 1955 is a son, Charles Leroy Richards Jr and daughter in-law, Nancy of Phenix City, AL; and a grandchild, Patrick Lee Richards of Phenix City, AL
