Martha E. Reithmeyer, 71, an employee of the C&P Telephone Co. of Washington for 45 years before retiring in 1968, died of a blood clot Wednesday at Georgetown University Hospital.
Mrs. Reithmeyer was a native of Washington and graduate of Eastern High School.
She began working for the telephone company as an operator in 1924. She later worked as a payroll supervisor and staff assistant in the executive department.
She was a member of the Alexander Graham Bell chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Mrs. Reithmeyer was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Washington.
