92 of Winchester, widower of Mabel Baker Profitt passed away on Fri., Sept. 2, 2011 at the Clark Regional Medical Center. He was born in Wolfe Co. on Nov. 26, 1918 to the late Wilgus and Amelia Bryant Profitt. He worked at a sawmill operator for Thompson's Lumber Co. and the Freeman Corporation for over 40 years.
Survivors include 5 children, Prater Profitt of OH, Robert Profitt Jr. of Mt. Sterling, Randall Profitt, Mary Bradley, and Joyce White all of Winchester; 3 stepchildren, Jean Smith of Mt. Sterling, Bobby Martin of AZ, Phyllis Landrum of Wolfe Co.; 22 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tammy White and 10 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tues., Sept. 6 at Scobee Funeral Home by Bro. Jimmy Muncie. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mr. Profitt's grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Chenault, Charlie Bennington, Harold Keller, Ray Bradley, and Tim Givens. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Tues. at the funeral home.
