Prof. Martin Luther Pratt passed many useful and devoted years in the public schools of Portland. Many hundreds, aye thousands, of pupils, now grown to manhood or womanhood, remember him with affection and respect. He had fine war record, too, in his service for the union in the civil war. He was altogether an exemplary citizen, who served his day and generation and then joined his comrades on the other shore.
