Odessa - Randy D. Nuckols was born March 22, 1977, to Don and Pam Nuckols in Slidell, LA. At the young age of 30, he left this life on Friday, May 18, 2007, in Midland, TX. As a boy, Randy hated to see anyone go hungry and would often leave food for the homeless under the bridges where they slept and leave before they could thank him. He graduated from Permian High School in 1995. Later that year he married his junior high sweetheart and the love of his life, Angie Gibson on November 11 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Randy's second love was his daughter, Emily, who brought even more added joy to his life.
He loved to have tea parties with her and often fell asleep watching cartoons with her at night. Some of the other things Randy enjoyed were riding his Harley, drag racing, riding Motocross bikes and four-wheelers. He liked watching football, playing his PS2 and watching movies. He was especially intrigued by the History and Military Channel. Randy loved the outdoors; barbecuing and spending time with his family were some of his greatest joys.
Randy was involved in many aspects of law enforcement. He worked as a prison guard for the TDCJ, a police officer in Lamesa, and as a deputy sheriff in Midland for many years. Recently, Randy started a new phase in his life as a salesman for Weatherford.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angie Nuckols and their beautiful daughter, Emily Nuckols, both of Midland; his mother, Pam Nuckols of Odessa; and father, Don Nuckols and wife Kristie, also of Odessa. His Grandpa and Grandma, Jim and Melba Paysinger of Odessa, and great-grandmother, Nannie of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one half- brother, Greg Nuckols of Abilene, TX; and one half-sister, Tabitha Hughes and her husband Will, their children, Brian and Brittany, all of Little Rock, Arkansas, survive him. One uncle, Desmond Stanford and his wife, Sheila of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida survive him. Also surviving him are his cousins, Chrissy and Jennifer Stanford, and his Aunt, Judy Stanford of Dallas, TX, and his great-uncle, Jerry Ritchey of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Mike Stanford.
