John Motherspaw Suffered from Cancer
Deland, Nov 26 - John Motherspaw of Deland died Saturday morning at 5 o'clock of cancer of the stomach, from which he suffered the last three months. He was in Danville, Chicago and Decatur taking treatments at different times. He had been home from the Augustine hospital in Chicago two weeks.
Mr. Motherspaw was about sixty-five years old, and had been a resident of this place a number of years. He owned a restaurant here, and he and his wife had charge of the telephone office, as well. He was a member of the Christian church and of the M. W. A. and Masonic lodges.
He is survived by his wife and two children, Carl of Dallas, Tex., and Nelle, who lives at home. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. C. Ridgely of Monticello, Mrs. Della Bartlett of Decatur and Mrs. Kinkead {Kirkendall} of Peoria.
The funeral probably will be held Monday from the Christian church, with burial in the Monticello cemetery.
