EDGAR "EGGS" MANSKE Football Hall of Famer, outstanding science educator. Born 1912, Wausau, Wisconsin, died January 27 in Los Angeles. National Football Foundation Hall of Fame Inductee excelled in both football and basketball. All-American end and graduate, Northwestern. Professional football career as both offensive and defensive end, leading scorer Phila. Eagles 1935-36. As Chicago Bear, played in memorable 73-0 playoff win over Washington. Graduate, Chicago's Loyola School of Law. Practiced law in Chicago, then served in WWII as naval officer in the Pacific. Inspired players as end coach for Univ. of CA, Berkeley Rose Bowl teams, 1947-52. Inspired students for 20 years as biology teacher, Berkeley High. Married 53 years to '28 Olympian and "32 Olympic Bronze Medalist, Jane Fauntz Manske. Survived by 2 daughters, brother, sister and loving, appreciative family. Memorial service pending. Private burial, Sun City, AR.
