Mrs. Meda Elsie Lyon, 53, wife of Roy Lyon, died Tuesday at her home on
Manitowoc route 3. She had been ill for 11 months with a heart ailment.
Mrs. Lyon, nee Cheever, was born Jan. 26, 1888, at Pella, Shawano county.
She was married April 5, 1905 and the family moved to Manitowoc county in
1929. Besides the widower, the survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Walter
Kurtz and Mrs.Marvin Koeser both of this city; two sons, Harley of Sheboygan
and Glenn of Manitowoc; two brothers, Orville Cheever of Hillsdale, Mich.,
and Harley Cheever of Toledo, O.; one sister, Mrs. David Clifford of Antigo;
and 5 grandchildren.
The body will lie in state at the Pfeffer funeral home from 7 o’clock
tonight until Friday morning at 11 o’clock when it will be taken to the
Wesley Methodist church. Funeral services in charge of the Rev. C. E.
Hagen will be held there Friday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock with burial in
Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. Lyon was a member of the Missionary society of the Wesley Methodist
church.
