MELVIN L. LUCKOW

Melvin L. Luckow, age 75, of 2356 S. 18th St., Manitowoc, died early Wednesday
morning, January 3, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 1996, at St. Andrew's
Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be
Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Cremation will follow with burial at Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
He was born December 15, 1920, in Manitowoc, son of the late Louis and Adelia
Stephani Luckow. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World
War II from 1942 until 1945. He married the former Dorothy Massman December 9,
1944, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. Mr. Luckow was employed with Mirro-Foley
for 48 years, until his retirement in March of 1984. He was a fine craftsman and
enjoyed upholstering part-time for 30 years. He was a member of St. Andrew's
Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Luckow, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law,
Dave and Ellen Luckow; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Tom Rappel; one brother
and sister-in-law, William and Marjorie Luckow, all of Manitowoc; two sisters and
one brother-in-law, Mrs. Arnold (Alice) Princl, Mishicot, Eleanore and Frank Stanelle,
Neenah; four grandchildren, Jessica Rappel, and her fiance Mike, Joe Rappel, Mike
Luckow and Nicole Luckow. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and
many special friends. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Michael; three
brothers; and one sister.
Friends may call at St. Andrew's Catholic Church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time
of service at 11 a.m.
There will be no Friday evening visitation.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with the funeral
arrangements.
Bud will be missed deeply by all. He supported all of us as a loving father,
grandfather and friend. He enjoyed fishing with all his very close friends. Please
remember he always wanted the best for everyone and always said "This is the life"
and " A little hug never hurts."
