Mrs. Dorothy J. Luckow, age 83, a Manitowoc resident,
died Sunday evening, Feb. 11, 2007, at Aurora Medical
Center, Two Rivers.
She was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Manitowoc, daughter of the
late Paul and Catherine (Denor) Massman. On Dec. 9, 1944,
she married Melvin "Bud" Luckow at Holy Innocents Catholic
Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1996.
She was employed at Mirro Aluminum Company in her younger
years, and was also employed as a waitress at Elks and
Stephen's Charcoal House. Dorothy enjoyed her children,
and loved to knit and take care of her grandchildren and
the family dogs.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Tom Rappel, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law: Dave and Ellen Luckow, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Jessica and Michael Sanders, Joe Rappel, Mike Luckow, Nicole Luckow; two great-grandchildren: Addison and Emersyn Sanders; a sister and brother-in-law: Marilyn and Arthur Schmatz, Manitowoc; and two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: William and Marjorie Luckow, Manitowoc; Lorraine Massman, Manitowoc, and Frank Stanelle, Neenah. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, other relatives, special friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by an infant son: Michael; and
a brother: Norman Massman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday,
Feb. 15, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall,
Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial
will be the Rev. Monsignor James Vanden Hogen, with burial
at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis
of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. on Thursday,
Feb. 15, 2007, until the time of service at 11 a.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc,
is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to the
wonderful nurses at Aurora Medical Center for their
compassionate care given to Dorothy and all the special help
she received from her very special neighbors.
