Lyman was the son of Peter Krichbaum and Louisa Huffman. The grandson of George Krichbaum, Sr. and Elizabeth Sonders Krichbaum.
He was the husband of Edna Mabel Buskirk Krichbaum. They Married March 4, 1897

He was the father of Mary Louise Kricbaum, and John Buskirk Krichbaum.

His siblings were : Letha Krichbaum, Amos Krichbaum, William Krichbaum, Charles M. Krichbaum, Mary Melissa Krichbaum

Lyman died from blood poisoning after he was stuck by a needle in his arm, while trying to give a horse a shot.
