MRS. D.H. KING SR DIES AT 85 AFTER FIVE-YEAR ILLNESS - Services for Mrs. Sallie Harrell King of 3428 Faxon, wife of D.H. King Sr., will be held at 10 this morning at National Funeral Home. The Rev. R.Y. Horton will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park. Mrs. King died at 4 a.m. yesterday at her home after an illness of five years. She was 85. Born in Shelby County, Mrs. King had lived in Memphis since 1920. She was a member of Highland Heights Methodist Church and a life member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She leaves her husband; a son, D.H. King; a daughter, Miss Ruby P. King; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Campbell, Mrs. W.B. Whitaker, and Mrs. Pearl Kelly, all of Memphis; a brother, C.E. Harrell of Brighton, Tenn.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. (Published in The Commercial Appeal 10-30-1957)
