Freddie Mae Hooter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend entered rest on March 14, 2011 at the age of 74. She was born in Somerset, Texas to Otto Frederick Watts and Vina Gifford Edwards Watts on March 27, 1936. She worked as a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1996 after 26 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Preston Watts; her sister Clara Dell "Sitter" Watts; and her grandson Cory Hooter. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Herbert L. Hooter; their children: Frederick E. Hooter (Mae Beth); Joseph L. Hooter (Lisa) and Paula A. Cobb (Mark); grandchildren: Ashley Bates, Justin Hooter, Kendra Jo Hooter, Jordan Bates and Chris Cobb; great-grandchildren: Brooke Martinez and Adrian Casarez; grand-dogs: Roxanne, Abby and Dakota; and a host of family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. John P. Galan for the exceptional care he provided over the years. And thank you to the healthcare providers at Methodist Hospital ER and MICU who fought valiantly to keep Freddie with us, especially MICU nurses Joy, Rebecca and Diane, Dr. R. Goff, Dr. R. Nandyala, Dr. C. Burch and Dr. A. Lopez. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Somerset Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Bexar Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Somerset Baptist Church New Building Fund, 19961 Somerset Road, Somerset TX
