He was the husband of Fanny Hogg, of 2, Northgate Terrace, Chester. He was a Private in the Cheshire Regiment, No. 3 Depot. Service No. 12546, and was based at Chester Castle. He died in the Royal Infirmary, from pneumonia and heart failure, aged 53 yrs. He was buried on the 25th March 1916.
