Ted Adair Hilger was the son of John Fredrick Hilger and Emma Dye. Ted was the brother of Major General John Allen Hilger. According to a newspaper article, Lieutenant Ted Adair Hilger died when the Destroyer Pillsbury (DD-227) went down at sea with all lives lost on 2 Mar 1942 off of Java. He was later declared dead on 25 Nov 1945.
