Funeral service for John G. Doden of Chadwick, who taught school in the Chadwick area for 48 years before retiring in 1971, was held this afternoon in First Evangelical Lutheran Church here. The Rev. Raymond Kleinhaus, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Chadwick Cemetery. Mr. Doden died Friday night in Savanna City Hospital. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Born Nov. 22, 1903, in Fair Haven Township, Carroll County, he was the son of Adolph and Emma (Klein) Doden. On June 15, 1968, he married Laura Daehler in Chadwick. Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. James (Janice) Kern of Wildwood and Mrs. Steven (Eunice) Zumdahl of Boulder, Colo; two grandchildren; and two brothers, George and Lawrence, and a sister, Miss Margrete Doden, all of Chadwick. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Marjorie Spaulding.
