Joseph Taylor Devonshire, Jr., 66, a lifelong resident of Colora, MD, passed away at his home May 15, 2011.
Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on October 5, 1944, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Adeline Jackson Devonshire. He was a 1963 graduate of Rising Sun High School. Joe farmed the family farm until 1984 and was also a truck driver for M. Lynch Transportation for 15 years. He was a truck driver training and driver education instructor for Cecil Community College. He enjoyed bowling and was known as quite a joke and story teller. He was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. Joe was always there to help anyone who needed it.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Priscilla Reynolds Devonshire; two daughters, Vickie McConnell and her husband Lee of Colora, and Kimberly D'Amario and her husband Mark of Rosedale, MD; two sons, Jeffrey White and his wife Marlana of Rising Sun and Chris White and his wife Heather of North East; and 13 grandchildren.
A service honoring Joe's life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Thursday May 19, 2011 at 12 noon. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 11 am. Burial will be in West Nottingham Cemetery.
