Elisha D. Coffin was captured by Confederate forces during Stoneman's Raid near Atlanta, GA around Aug. 6, 1864 & was imprisoned at Andersonville Prison & later a prison in Florence, SC. He became ill from scurvy, typhoid & rheumatism."
