Grady Brannon Sr., 66, husband of Mrs. Nellie Rochester Brannon, of 14 South 6th Street, Lockhart, died at 4:55 a.m. Monday in in Wallace Thomson Hospital after a brief illness.
Native of Union County; son of Barney and Iva Tucker Brannon; member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church; member of the men's Bible class; veteran of World War II; retired from Milliken Corporation's Lockhart Plant; and Springs Mills Chesnee plant.
Surviving: eight daughters, Mrs. Sara Gregory, Mrs. Peggy Walker, Mrs. Juantia Inman, and Mrs. Carolyn Rash of Lockhart, Mrs. Nancy Hope and Miss Guynita Brannon of Union, Mrs. Brenda Petty of New Orleans and Mrs. Mary Cox; Four sons, Grady Brannon Jr. of the home, Barney "Sonny" Brannon, Clifton Brannon of Union and E6 Arthur Ray Brannon with the U.S. Army in Germany ; sisters, Mrs Eula Burris, Mrs. Ruth Brock, Mrs. Alice Whitlock and Mrs. Fannie Davis of Union; brother, Paul Brannon of Kings Mountain, N.C.; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Brannon was predeceased by a son, Walter Lee "Bubba" Brannon.
